Before joining the university’s academic staff in 2014, he served with the Egyptian Ministry of Awqaf, leading prayer, preaching and teaching, and he has preached and taught in mosques and cultural centres since 2011. His approach to fatwa draws on legal maxims and the objectives of the Sharia, weighing benefits and harms alongside the circumstances of the questioner.
